Why upholstery is nostalgic

on Design*Sponge today I happened to see this post about DIYing a bucket into an Ottoman.

The DIY project comes from Revive Upholstery, a Portland Oregon upholstery shop, which has a really neat video about their shop at that link.

The video captures all the little beauties of a workshop (especially an upholstery shop) and bring our senses back to an olden time – a simpler time.

There is something about making things with your hands…

Its summertime and we’re feeling fine.

Better than fine actually.

Local Fabric Recycling Program

SOS, corp. presents

For the benefit of the public

The Local Fabric Recycling Program

Boca Raton fabric recycling program

As an upholstery and drapery workroom we deal with a variety of beautiful fabrics. At the completion of any job we have some small scrap pieces of fabric. If the pieces are too small to make pillows, table runners, or placemats from them we cannot really use them.  Rather than throwing these bits and pieces away we want to do something for the benefit of the environment and the community.

So we are making these fabric pieces available to the public and anyone interested can receive some of them free. (first come, first serve basis)

This is a great program for quilters and other small craft enthusiasts.

If you are interested, contact (561) 289-2001 or email info@sos-boca.com to schedule a time to come and pick them up.
